Hydrant

Keeping your body hydrated will promote a better metabolic process. Every day, 8-9 glasses of water should be consumed. If you often forget to drink water, you can set a water timer on your mobile that will remind you to drink water at different times of the day. You can make your water detoxifying by soaking chopped cucumber, orange, lime, and even berries in it overnight.

Oil consumption

Another important aspect you need to consider when dieting is the type and amount of oil you use. Some of the oils that should be avoided at all costs are vegetable oil, canola oil, and soybean oil. The best oils to use in daily cooking are mustard oil, olive oil, avocado oil, and even ghee. Do not use more than a tablespoon of oil when cooking a particular meal.

Smart snacking

Snacks are the main culprit for weight gain. To satisfy untimely sugar cravings and nighttime cravings, we often resort to unhealthy snacks that are either packed with sugar or fried. Once you change your snacking habits, you will notice a marked difference in your lifestyle. Replace unhealthy snacks with healthy snacks. This will satisfy hunger without making you feel guilty. Some healthy snack options include homemade popcorn, ragi chips, jowar puffs, roasted makhana, chana, protein bar, fruit yogurt, etc.

Diversify your diet

If you’re following a very typical diet and repeating the same foods every few days, it’s time to add more diversity to it. For example, instead of eating the same wheat roti every day, you can experiment with different types of healthy flours like ragi, jowar, bajra, amaranth, etc. Similarly, the rice can be replaced with quinoa, which is a cereal rich in protein.

Portion control

Are you eating healthy foods but still not losing weight? The culprit here could be the portion. If you eat healthy foods in large portions, even that can lead to weight gain. Divide your day into 4-5 small meals which should include breakfast, lunch, snacks, fruit and dinner. For all meals, try to eat only 80% of your hunger, instead of gorging yourself completely. This will aid digestion and further speed up the metabolism.
